North East accountancy firm Mullen Stoker has appointed its former apprentice Courtney Lynn as its new office co-ordinator.
Courtney, 21, started with the company for 18 months, having been employed as a trainee administrator.
During her time with Mullen Stoker, Courtney has undertaken an 18-month Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship which she successfully completed last month.
Now, after impressing the company directors, Courtney has been rewarded with a full time role of office co-ordinator, based at the company’s head office at Mandale Business Park at Belmont in Durham.
Courtney, who lives in Durham, said: “I am excited to have completed and passed my apprenticeship, and am looking forward to all the opportunities my new role will bring.
“I am loving my time at Mullen Stoker, and now that I have finished my apprenticeship I’m really looking forward to supporting the directors and the team with all of their administrative needs.
“It’s an exciting time for the business as we continue to grow across the region, and I’m confident that my role will be invaluable within the practice.
“I am also excited about getting involved with the firms social media as this is a relatively new area for me and I feel that I can learn a lot about how the different channels can enhance our brand, profile and reputation in the North East.”
Speaking about Courtney’s appointment, Mullen Stoker director and co-founder Gary Stoker said: “Courtney has already proved what an asset she is to the Mullen Stoker team. As her experience and skill set continues to grow I’m confident her role will expand and will ensure the team has all the administrative support it needs to continue to grow the Mullen Stoker brand across the North East.”
As well as general administrative and office support, Courtney will also manage Mullen Stoker’s social media platforms.
Mullen Stoker was founded 13 years ago by Gary Stoker and Neil Mullen and has enjoyed year on year growth since. Although primarily recognised as a chartered accountancy firm, the company has a glowing reputation for its IT consultancy services and has a dedicated department within the business which manages all clients within this area.
The company recently opened a second office in South Shields, managed by accountant Christine Griffiths.
Mullen Stoker employs 15 people across the business with plans to further grow the team over the next couple of years.
